Questioning HR 6666

Earlier I had suggested strongly that Americans stand up to the continued obfuscation and mishandling of the corona response, not just forgetting the lime. My original email to Senator Sinema, Senator McSally and House representatives from Arizona regarded questioning HR 6666. This post is going to be a little long because it includes the response I got from Senator Sinema and my follow up. I have valid concerns. We all do. Whether you take the time to read this is probably a moot point as folks seem to be prone to just cursory reads and emotion-filled responses to what they perceive is true. I apologize I did not ‘save’ my original email to Senator Sinema and Senator McSally (they got the same).

Got the Memo

Dear Mr. Benefiel:

Thank you for contacting me about the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak. I always appreciate hearing from Arizonans about issues facing our state and country. It is important that we have conversations about topics that matter to you and your family, and I hope you will continue to reach out to me and share your perspectives and suggestions.

COVID-19, a novel coronavirus, is a respiratory virus that was first identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019. Symptoms of the virus include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. The virus spreads rapidly from person to person and, since the virus was discovered in late 2019, it has spread widely throughout China and around the world, including within the United States. Arizona was one of the first states affected by the coronavirus outbreak, and the number of cases present throughout the United States continues to grow.

The federal government and the state of Arizona have responded to prevent the spread of the disease since late January 2020. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar declared a public health emergency on January 31, 2020, and President Donald Trump declared a national emergency on March 13, 2020. These declarations provide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Federal Emergency Management Administration, and the Small Business Administration (SBA) with additional resources and authorities to respond to the coronavirus outbreak.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and the FDA has not approved any medication to treat the virus to be used broadly by the public outside of a physician’s order. The only way to prevent the spread of the coronavirus is to avoid exposure to the virus, which has led federal and state public health officials to limit the risk of person-to-person transmission as much as possible. The United States State Department has issued a Do Not Travel warning, urging all U.S. citizens to avoid international travel and travel on cruise ships. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has temporarily halted the processing of all permanent residency visas. The CDC has also recommended that older Americans and those with serious medical conditions avoid air travel within the United States. The CDC is also urging all Americans to remain inside their homes as much as possible, avoid gathering in groups or traveling to crowded areas, stay at least six feet away from other people, and cover their mouths and noses with plastic or cloth face masks.

In Arizona, Governor Doug Ducey issued a stay-at-home order on March 30, 2020. Under the order, Arizonans are directed to stay in their homes, with the exception of essential trips like visits to the pharmacy, grocery store, bank, or a medical facility. The order also requires a number of non-essential businesses, such as restaurants and gyms, to close while the stay-at-home order remains in effect. Many medical experts credit the stay-at-home order with limiting the spread of the coronavirus.

While the CDC experienced several delays in deploying effective coronavirus test kits to states, in recent weeks the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and private laboratories have increased testing capacity in Arizona. The latest guidelines issued by ADHS allow anyone who believes they have been exposed to or infected with COVID-19 to receive a coronavirus test. I am concerned that the delay in testing in Arizona has limited our ability to effectively fight the virus, and I am actively working with the ADHS, Arizona health systems, and private testing labs in Arizona, as well as the CDC and FDA, to increase the number of tests available. Arizonans who believe they need to be tested for COVID-19 should call their primary care doctor, call the Arizona Department of Health Services coronavirus hotline at 844-542-8201, or visit my website, sinema.senate.gov/corona/health for an updated list of testing sites.

As events and travel plans are canceled, and many businesses halt operations, many Americans are concerned about the long-term impact the coronavirus will have on the U.S. economy. That’s why I have helped lead efforts in the United States Senate to pass legislation which will support the public health response to the coronavirus outbreak, and help provide businesses and workers with economic relief during this tumultuous time.

On March 5, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provides $8.3 billion in emergency supplemental funding to federal and state public health officials. On March 14, 2020, Congress approved the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which requires some employers to offer paid sick leave and family leave to their employees affected by the coronavirus, and provides additional funding for state-run food assistance, unemployment insurance, and Medicaid programs. On March 27, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which created a number of programs to provide economic relief for Americans affected by the coronavirus, including one-time direct stimulus payments for eligible Americans, financial assistance for businesses and non-profits that have experienced losses as a result of the coronavirus, and emergency funding for health care providers, hospitals, and state and local governments to aid in their response to the outbreak. Following a flood of applications from businesses seeking assistance, the small business loan program’s funding ran out on April 16, 2020. On April 23, Congress passed legislation that provided additional funding for small business relief programs. I was proud to vote for all four of these bills, and am actively working with workers, businesses, health care providers, and elected officials to ensure Arizona receives the full benefit of these programs.

Questioning HR 6666 et al

Dear Senator Sinema,

Thank you for your response. I’m absolutely livid with the response of our government, the discovery that the head of NHI was involved in funding the development of the virus and that very few within the government have the guts to stand up for such tyranny.

I don’t have a Ph.D., but I am intelligent enough to do the research and engage critical thinking to distill the information into a reasonable view of the events and responses. I believe the response has been misdirected and misguided in the efforts to deal with it. I’m a project manager by trade, one who assess the chaos and figures out how to move people, places and things around to resolve challenges.

It is pretty clear that the events and actions have destroyed businesses, lives and quite probably our future as a healthy nation. The health and well-being of American citizens is determined, in part, by their freedoms. The actions of our government, across the nation, appears to the outside observer as fascism. I don’t care how you want to frame the ‘reasons,’ the actions are absolutely fascist and the HR 6666 seems to be a veiled attempt to pay folks to continue the erosion under the guise of addressing a pandemic.

Now, regarding the pandemic.. As one who is able to step back and observe before making assessments, I’ve vacillated between regular TV and the news across a variety of stations and the investigations of research and study by world-renown doctors, epidemiologists and in-the-trenches doctors who are finding a much different story than what is being pushed on us by the CDC, NHI and WHO. Vastly different. The disparity alone is enough to cause concern and should cause YOU and any reasonable person to question the motive and outcome desired.

My background is unique and perhaps gives me a much different capacity for seeing through the bullshit that is being piled on the American public while being told it is ‘for our safety.’ There are too many who are simply hiding their heads in the sand and not paying attention, let alone having the real intention of discovering the truth and taking action to truly protect their constituents. Even one of your own, Senator Jensen, has stated the numbers are greatly inflated by ‘encouragement’ to label any suspected deaths as COVID-19. Really?

I’m really not a conspiratorialist at all, but I do look at the data and details that are being shared by people way smarter than either one of us who are experts in their chosen field and have much to say about the mishandling of data and resources across the spectrum in this event. Science had been censored, diminished beyond belief and even removed from public view by corporate entities under the guise of misleading the American public. Misleading my ass! It’s your job as a senator to speak up for the people who have no voice, those who have been devastated by this event and not lead them further down the path to absolute control.

It is sad to see the number of people who are what I call dumb and numb; who simply listen to major media and believe the fear being pushed on them to be true. It isn’t only a travesty, it’s evil. It flies in the face of the very notion this country was founded on, “In God WE Trust.” If we are to take that and apply the notion of faith, love and trust in a higher power, the Christian perspective of ‘In perfect love there is no fear’ (paraphrased perhaps) then there is an absolute OBLIGATION OF SERVICE to the people to restore that faith, love and trust in our leadership as well. You know as well as I do the erosion of trust is catastrophic and the pummeling of fear-based projections on the public has achieved more to divide this country than any event to date.

An now, with the request for $100,000,000,000 to further test and no doubt push vaccinations when they are ‘ready,’ the story line is just ludicrous. The narrative is fallacious and the American public deserve far better treatment. We’re being told the ‘tests’ can determine the presence of the virus, while the truth is the tests only reveal the presence of Corona and the method for determining the presence of the 19 variety is much more laborious and lab intensive. No doubt the majority of the American people would test positive under those circumstances as most of us have been exposed to some kind of corona virus in the last decade. As sad as it is, the facts seem to be undeniable and they are being buried.

So, rather than respond with a standard politically correct memo, PLEASE DEMAND THE TRUTH AND SUPPORT THOSE SHARING IT IN SPITE OF YOUR ALLEGIANCE TO THE NARRATIVE OF THE POTUS AND CORPORATE PUSH FOR MORE CONTROL. I know you aren’t stupid. I know you care. Do the right thing. Stand up, question authority. Don’t just be another politician who’s power gets usurped by fear of rejection or retribution. Who do you want to be remember as, one who stood up and tried to do the right thing or one who simply crumbled? Be a hero.
